Sometimes it means nothing — that person you meet.
But what if, in the grand scheme of things, they were just part of your journey? Consider this: since we are in human form, the only way we truly learn lessons is through other people. They come into our lives, bring their own set of challenges, and we make changes in spite of the trauma they may bring.
On rare occasions, people teach us love without the pain — just pure love. Through their love, they show us how we should be loved thoroughly and completely. Then, there are the people who give us pain, so we have no choice but to love ourselves. We have no choice but to look within and embrace who we are — to learn acceptance. Through them, we learn that validation is fleeting, and we discover oneness: how to be at peace with ourselves through love and acceptance.
At the beginning and end of each passing day, all that matters is you. Your reality is the only reality you can control.
You are the only person born with your name, your darling eyes, your funny nose, your charming smile, your wonky body, and your one-of-a-kind soul. There is only you.
Now, take a moment to think about something else: What if, just maybe, you chose to be here?
In the spirit realm, you were given a list of lives and lessons to learn. You carefully sorted through the list and chose this one — the experience you’re living right now. The lessons you’re meant to embrace and overcome.
OR
Perhaps you are the culmination of your ancestors’ good karma. The combination of all those who came before you has led to this moment, and to you. You are the rawest, purest form of all the greatness stored in their bodies, sifted and strained into one powerful existence.
You were meant to take all of their power and channel it into the world. Their suffering, turmoil, loss, pain, and stress have been woven into the light that guides you — a lantern leading you through the darkness, through the forest of life’s unknown.
So, what if everything you’ve been told about who you are — everything you’ve been taught — is the opposite of the truth? What if the real challenge isn’t fitting into what others have shaped for you, but marching to the beat of your own drum, even if it means walking alone?
And what if that aloneness is exactly what you needed? What if it’s been preparing you to evolve in the belly of the beast — and when you emerge, you will slay it? The beast you chose when you elected to participate in this reality, or the reality passed down to you, because only you can do what your ancestors couldn’t.
The truth is, the reality of life and the “why” remains unknown. But perhaps, in that abyss of the unseen, that’s where the beauty truly lies.
